Author of the term

book cover gentoo.pngTo celebrate the newly released book, Jonty Gentoo, our author of the half term is Julia Donaldson!

A most beloved author by both children and adults, we know this will be a hit amongst our EYFS and KS1 children. Now 75, Julia, who was born in Hampstead, London, didn’t find her love for writing until the late 1980s when she started pitching for song writing commissions for the BBC. It was in 1991 when she got her first break when a publishing company asked to use her song, “A Squash and a Squeeze,” for a children’s book.

Julia has written over 150 books and is best known for her easy-to-learn rhyming stories and memorable characters. This Christmas will see the 9th Julia Donaldson book making its way to the TV screen. The animated adventure, Tiddler, the story of a little fish with a big imagination will be released this Christmas on the BBC.
